In my quest for good food and a SuperDeal, I've stumbled on a great secret here in town (thanks to my friend Marlis). Arribas Mexican Grill has decided that they need traffic flow in their restaurant on Thursdays (for whatever reason). Every Thursday, they are offering $0.99 Chicken Chimichangas for lunch. I've never seen an advertisement for this deal, nor are there any coupons out there that I can find. You just show up and order the chicken chimi for lunch..and they'll ask you if you want red or green sauce. I highly suggest the green sauce, as they are known for their green chili's from Hatch, New Mexico.
Also...we just had dinner tonight at Valle Luna...a "Sonoran Mexican" restaurant that has 3 locations around the Valley. Currently they're running a BOGO (buy one, get one), and I have to say.....they're amazing. Their specialty dish is the Fundido...don't miss this one. You pick the meat..they roll it in jalapeno cream cheese and deep fry it...throwing cheddar (or some kind of awesome cheese blend) on top. We both had Main Entrees and were out of there for under $20. Their coupons are in the Blue ValPak Envelopes you receive on Wednesdays in the mail.
If you're in town, both of these local Mexican Restaurants are true, homemade, local gems.
